# Oso Cloud Documentation

Oso Cloud is a centralized authorization service built on Polar, our logic programming language designed for expressing permission systems,
and SQLite, the world's most battle-tested database engine.

Polar can express any model, including [RBAC](https://www.osohq.com/docs/develop/policies/rbac.md), [ReBAC](https://www.osohq.com/docs/develop/policies/rebac.md), [ABAC](https://www.osohq.com/docs/develop/policies/abac.md), [fine-grained authorization](https://www.osohq.com/docs/develop/policies/fga.md), as well as patterns like [organizational hierarchies](https://www.osohq.com/docs/develop/policies/patterns/organizational-hierarchy.md), [custom roles](https://www.osohq.com/docs/develop/policies/patterns/custom-roles.md), and more.

When you need to answer an authorization question, you call our APIs via HTTP or SDKs. Oso Cloud evaluates the request against your authorization logic and facts, returning a boolean, list, or logic to execute against your database.
